Dogmatika Targets
All targets here can be used with either Nadir Servant, Dogmatika Punishment, Dogmatika Maximus or Ultimate Slayer, however the focus here will always be on Dogmatika Punishment, although the information provided usually goes for all 4. If you want to see a list with every Extra Deck monster that has a GY effect please check out this Yugipedia page. Generally speaking, Punishment targets with a low ATK stat can be hard to use, to the point where any with less than 1500 ATK are nearly useless. For Beast, Beast-Warrior and Winged Beast type monsters this can essentially be ignored by using Tri-Brigade Arms Bucephalus II.
Just because a card doesn’t have any downs to it does not mean mean you should play it, many of the targets listed here are situational or have minor effects. Which ones to play always depends on the meta, the ED space you have, as well as if you play ED sending cards besides Dogmatika Punishment.
Unless otherwise stated, by a statement ending in a semicolon ;
, all monsters in here trigger when they are send to the GY.
Removal
Before reading trough the list here please make sure that you are familiar with the removal types, as repeating the basic ups and downs of every removal kind would quickly get repetitive.
1 Synchro Monster + 1 Xyz Monster
Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending the above cards you control to the GY. (You do not use "Polymerization".) Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your hand If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy it. You can only Special Summon "Elder Entity N'tss(s)" once per turn.
Targeting destruction removal for opponent’s card
1 Machine monster + 1 Pyro monster
If this card is Special Summoned: You can destroy all monsters your opponent controls with 1900 or less ATK. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls with 1900 or less ATK; destroy that monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its original ATK. You can only use each effect of "Blazing Bombardment Beast" once per turn.
Targeting destruction removal for opponent’s monster
Burns upon destruction of the opponent’s monster
The monster it destroys must have 1900 ATK or less, meaning this card is only useful for Dogmatika Punishment if your opponent has 2 low ATK monsters
1 Rock monster in your GY + 1 Level 5 or 6 monster
Must first be Special Summoned with "Fossil Fusion". This card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can inflict 800 damage to your opponent. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Fossil Machine Skull Wagon" once per turn.
Spell Speed 1; targeting destruction removal for any player’s spell/trap
1 Rock monster + 1 Level 5 or 6 monster
Must first be Special Summoned with "Fossil Fusion". If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. When this attacking card destroys a monster by battle: You can activate this effect; this card can make a second attack in a row. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Fossil Warrior Skull Knight" once per turn.
Spell Speed 1; targeting destruction removal for any player’s monster
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Special Summoned: You can increase or decrease its Level by 1. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; return it to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Golden Cloud Beast - Malong" once per turn.
Targeting non-destruction removal (bounce) for an opponent’s face-up card
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned, or sent to the GY: You can target 1 monster in your GY, or 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; discard 1 card, and if you do, place that monster in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone as a face-up Continuous Trap. During either player's turn, if this card is a Continuous Trap: You can Special Summon 1 face-up Monster Card from your Spell & Trap Zone. You can only use each effect of "Enigmaster Packbit" once per turn.
Targeting non-destruction removal (move to S/T zone) for an opponent’s face-up monster
Discard is an advantage unlike with Phoenix Wing Wind Blast
- If you do not have a card in hand to discard you can simply send another monster with Punishment, while with Phoenix Wing Wind Blast it would block you from using your removal trap completly
- The discard can be used to get e.g. Absolute King Back Jack and Transaction Rollback into the GY
Just like Terrors of the Overroot this effect can be used to prevent pendulum decks from playing by blocking a pendulum scale
If an opponent places one of your monsters in your S/T zone you can use Packbit’s effect to place himself in your S/T zone to use his other effect to special summon your monster from the S/T zone
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
During your Main Phase: You can destroy Spells/Traps your opponent controls, up to the number of "@Ignister" monsters you control. If another card(s) you control is destroyed by battle or an opponent's card effect, while this card is on the field or in the GY: You can banish this card, then target 1 card your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. You can only use each effect of "Wind Pegasus @Ignister" once per turn.
If one of your card(s) is destroyed by your opponent; Targeting non-destruction removal (shuffle) for an opponent’s card
2+ monsters, including an "Evil★Twin" monster
(Quick Effect): You can Tribute this card; Special Summon up to 1 "Ki-sikil" monster and up to 1 "Lil-la" monster from your GY. You can banish this card from your GY and send 1 "Evil★Twin" monster from your hand, Deck, or face-up field to the GY; send 1 card on the field to the GY. You can only use each effect of "Evil★Twin's Trouble Sunny" once per turn.
Spell Speed 1; Non-targeting non-destruction removal (send to GY) for any player’s card
Requires a Main Deck brick
This card is not worth to run for punishment, however during DUNE format some Labrynth decklists chose to play this with Ultimate Slayer to deal with the Unchained endboard.
Search / Draw
2 monsters with the same Type and Attribute, but different names
Any battle damage your opponent takes from battles involving this card is doubled. If this card is sent to the GY: You can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Garura, Wings of Resonant Life" once per turn.
Draw a card
The go-to option for when you do not need to interact with your opponent’s board
1 "Predaplant" monster + 1 DARK monster
Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field with a Level less than or equal to this card's; banish it. When an attack is declared involving this card and an opponent's face-up monster: You can activate this effect; until the end of this turn, that opponent's monster loses 1000 ATK, and if it does, this card gains 1000 ATK. Once per turn, during the next Standby Phase after this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.
Next Standby Phase; search a “Fusion” or “Polymerization” Spell
- This is not limited to normal spells, Super Polymerization is a valid target
If this card is sent via Dogmatika Punishment you can not activate the card you search during the same turn, as you are still under the Dogmatika Punishment Extra Deck lock. It is only recommended to consider this card for lists that play Nadir Servant and/or Ultimate Slayer
2 Beast, Beast-Warrior, and/or Winged Beast monsters
During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monster from your hand, also you cannot use monsters as Link Material for the rest of this turn, except Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monsters. If this card is sent to the GY: You can draw 1 card, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the Deck. You can only use each effect of "Tri-Brigade Ferrijit the Barren Blossom" once per turn.
Allows you to fix your hand by shuffling a brick back into the deck
If you have already used Garura this turn and want to draw another card this is your only option
2 "Shaddoll" monsters with different Attributes
Must first be Fusion Summoned. Cannot be destroyed by battle. You can only use each of the following effects of "El Shaddoll Apkallone" once per turn.
● If this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 face-up card on the field; negate its effects.
● If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 "Shaddoll" card from your Deck or GY to your hand, then discard 1 card.
Search a Shaddoll card from Deck/GY, then discard a card
Just like with packbit, the discard can be used as an upside
The search target is Shaddoll Schism (and use it to summon El Shaddoll Winda)
- In theory one could play any of the Shaddoll monsters and discard it directly to get its effect, however many of the effects of them can be replicated by simply using another punishment target. And as you are only able to really dedicate one spot to the search target its better to just lock your opponent out of special summons with Winda.
Recovery
1 Beast monster + 1 Fiend monster
This card's name becomes "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" while on the field or in the GY. You can only use each of the following effects of "Chimera the King of Phantom Beasts" once per turn. If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can activate this effect; send 1 random card from your opponent's hand to the GY during the End Phase of this turn. During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Beast, Fiend, or Illusion monster in your GY; Special Summon it.
During the opponents turn; special summon 1 Fiend from your GY
Revival of a fiend can be useful in many situations, for example (but not limited to):
- Summon an extender for link plays during your upcoming turn
- Get a LV 8+ Fiend monster on board to enable Big Welcome Labrynth’s GY effect
- Special Arianna to search
- Wall-up in order to survive a turn
2 monsters with different Types (Beast, Fiend, or Illusion)
This card's name becomes "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" while on the field or in the GY. You can only use each of the following effects of "Berfomet the Mythical King of Phantom Beasts" once per turn. If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can send 1 Beast, Fiend, or Illusion monster from your Deck to the GY. During your opponent's turn (Quick Effect): You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 of your banished Beast, Fiend, or Illusion monsters, except "Berfomet the Mythical King of Phantom Beasts"; Special Summon it.
During the opponents turn; special summon 1 Fiend from your Banishment
One of the very few options to get Lovely/Lady back into rotation if she gets banished - Especially useful in matchups that involve Bystials or Runicks
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can banish both this face-up card from the field and 1 random card from your opponent's hand, face-up, until your next Standby Phase. Once per turn, during your opponent's Standby Phase: You can target 1 banished card; return it to the GY. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 other card in the GY; shuffle both that card and this card from the GY into the Deck.
Spell Speed 1; shuffle 1 card from your GY and Omega back into the Deck/Extra Deck
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Your opponent cannot target a Synchro Monster that used this card as material with monster effects. You can only use each of the following effects of "Deep Sea Prima Donna" once per turn.
● You can target 1 of your opponent's banished cards; add to your hand, or Special Summon, 1 Level 4 or lower WATER monster from your Deck, and if you do, add that target to their hand.
● If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 banished card; shuffle it into the Deck.
Shuffle 1 card from either Banishment back into the Deck
Outperformed by Beformet, who does a better job at recycling from the Banishment for Monsters, with recycling of S/T from the Banishment not really being needed
Other
2+ Level 9 monsters
If this card is Xyz Summoned: You can send 1 monster from your Extra Deck to the GY. You can target monsters in your GY, up to the number of materials this card has; detach materials from this card equal to the number of those targets in the GY, and if you do, attach those targets to this card as material. If this card is sent to the GY: You can target 1 face-up card on the field; negate its effects until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Mereologic Aggregator" once per turn.
Negate for any face-up card on the field until the end of this turn
3+ Beast, Beast-Warrior, and/or Winged Beast monsters
Cannot be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck unless you have 3 or more "Tri-Brigade" Spells/Traps in your GY. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when you Special Summon a monster(s). When a monster declares an attack: You can banish this card, also banish all cards your opponent controls. If this card is sent to the GY: You can send 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monster from your Extra Deck to the GY. You can only use this effect of "Tri-Brigade Arms Bucephalus II" once per turn.
Can be used to turn any Beast, Beast-Warrior or Winged Beast Punishment target into a 3500 ATK target
1 "Tearlaments" monster + 1 Aqua monster
If this card is Special Summoned: You can take 1 "Tearlaments" card from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or send it to the GY. You can target 1 monster you control; Special Summon 1 "Tearlaments" monster from your hand or GY, and if you do, send the targeted monster to the GY. If this card is sent to the GY by card effect: You can send the top 5 cards of your Deck to the GY. You can only use each effect of "Tearlaments Kitkallos" once per turn.
Mill 5
The Mills can bring various useful GY effects into rotation:
- Transaction Rollback
- Absolute King Back Jack
- Big Welcome Labrynth for its GY effect
- Missing Labrynth pieces
This card is currently banned in both the TCG & OCG, however it is available in Master Duel where it is limited.
5 monsters
Must be Link Summoned. If this card is Link Summoned using DARK, EARTH, WATER, FIRE, and WIND Attributes: You can destroy all cards your opponent controls. Cannot be destroyed by battle with a DARK, EARTH, WATER, FIRE, or WIND monster. Unaffected by other cards' effects. Once per turn, during your opponent's End Phase: You must banish 5 cards from your GY face-down (this is not optional), or send this card to the GY.
High ATK punishment target for when 3500 ATK is not enough
Running into monsters with more than 3500 ATK if rare enough that this is probably not worth the Extra Deck space.
Of the 6 Extra Deck monsters with 5000 ATK this is the most useful one. You can run whichever one you have access to, however in theory you could summon this, which is always better to have than e.g. a Fusion you can not summon.
2 "Paleozoic" monsters
Unaffected by other monsters' effects. You can only use each of the following effects of "Paleozoic Cambroraster" once per turn. You can target 1 Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone; send it to the GY, and if you do, Set 1 "Paleozoic" Trap directly from your Deck. It can be activated this turn. If a Set card(s) you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can banish this card from your field or GY instead.
Protection removal for your set cards
Does not advance the game state, only serves as protection
Cards like Feather Duster are usually played before committing a monster to the board, meaning you wont be able to send this card as CL2 via Punishment.
very low ATK stat
Dogmatika
These targets are only relevant if you play Dogmatika Maximus and/or Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous
1 Level 4 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, if a card(s) leaves the Extra Deck (except during the Damage Step): You can make all monsters you currently control gain 500 ATK (permanently), then you can negate the effects of 1 face-up card on the field, until the end of this turn. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can Special Summon 1 LIGHT Spellcaster monster from your hand or Deck whose ATK equals its own DEF. You can only use this effect of "Despian Luluwalilith" once per turn.
Special Summon Ecclesia in the EP from the Deck/Hand (and then get the search from Ecclesia).
Titaniklad does the same, but better as it allows access to any Dogmatika monster.
"Fallen of Albaz" + 1 monster with 2500 or more ATK
Gains ATK equal to the combined original Levels of the monsters used for its Fusion Summon x 100. After this card is Fusion Summoned, for the rest of this turn, it is unaffected by the activated effects of any other monsters Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can add to your hand, or Special Summon, 1 "Fallen of Albaz" or "Dogmatika" monster from your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Titaniklad the Ash Dragon" once per turn.
Special Summon or search any Dogmatika monster in the End Phase.
"Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous" + 1 LIGHT or DARK monster
If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can send 1 Level 6 or higher LIGHT or DARK monster from your Deck or Extra Deck to the GY. If a monster is Special Summoned by your opponent's activated monster effect (except during the Damage Step): You can banish this card from your field or GY; Special Summon 1 "Dogmatika" monster from your Deck or 1 "Despia" monster from your Extra Deck. You can only use each effect of "Granguignol the Dusk Dragon" once per turn.
Special Summon a Dogmatika from the Deck or Despia from the ED if a monster is special summoned due to an opponent’s activated Monster effect
The special summon is only useful during two scenarios, and even then not that good:
- Special summon Ecclesia to search Fleurdelis, who isn’t played in Labrynth as the search target usually is Punishment
- Special summon Luluwalilith, if you are not ED locked due to Dogmatika effects or Fiend locked due to Welcome Labrynth.
